  • Public Notice of Upcoming CCNE Accreditation Review

    The University of Mississippi School of Nursing seeks national reaccreditation of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and accreditation of the Post-Master's APRN Certificate program from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). An accreditation review of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Post-Master's APRN Certificate programs by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education is scheduled. CCNE site visitors will conduct an on-site visit February 15-17, 2017. Program constituents including students, alumni, representatives from clinical agencies and the public are invited to submit comments concerning the DNP and Post-Master's APRN programs' qualifications for accreditation status. CCNE will share comments with the site visitors prior to the visit and at no time will comments be shared with the University of Mississippi School of Nursing, the Accreditation Review Committee, or the Board. During its review of the program, the evaluation team considers third-party comments, if any, that relate to the accreditation standards. This notification indicates that written third-party comments will be received by CCNE until 21 days before the scheduled on-site evaluation.

  • Accreditation

    The educational programs at the University of Mississippi School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, D.C. 20036, (202) 887-6791. At the most recent accreditation review in March 2012, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing programs were awarded the maximum 10-year accreditation period, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice was awarded the maximum five-year initial accreditation. CCNE_seal  

    School of Nursing programs are also in full compliance with the standards for approval by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.

    The University of Mississippi is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award degrees at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral levels.
