  • Plastic Surgery (Independent and Integrated) Residency Application Information

The Plastic Surgery Independent Residency Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center offers a strong, balanced program. The program uses the SF Match (San Francisco Match) application service.

As part of the SF Match application service, the residency program requires a recent photograph, USMLE results (Steps 1 and 2), a dean's letter of recommendation and three letters of recommendation from faculty, a final confirmation letter from the ABPS, and applicants must have at least 5-years of general surgery, or board eligibility in neurological surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, or urology, prior to enter into this program.

The SF Match application service opens the first week of August and we accept applications until October 31.  An applicant without United States citizenship must have a J-1 visa in order to be employed as a resident at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center accepts applications through ERAS.  ERAS applications will be received starting September 15 with a deadline of November 1 each year.

After an application has been reviewed, invitations for interviews will be extended. During the interview day there will be a tour of the medical center and opportunities to speak to residents at various levels. An applicant without United States citizenship must have a J-1 visa in order to be employed as a resident at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

All residency and fellowship programs at the University of Mississippi Medical Center require state licensure.
