    Dr. Timberlake received his MD from the University of Virginia in 1977.  While on active duty, he completed a residency in surgery at the U.S. Naval Hospital, San Diego in 1983, and a fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine and the Charity Hospital of New Orleans, LA in 1986. 

    Dr. Timberlake served for ten years on the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and its Subcommittee on Advanced Trauma Life Support.
