    The Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi Medical Center has a threefold mission to provide care of the highest quality to all patients; to offer state-of-the-art education and training in psychiatry, psychology and related fields; and to pursue research on the brain, human behavior and mental illness. For the adult psychiatrist, areas targeted for expansion include ambulatory services, consults for inpatient services and general emergency services. As a faculty member, the individual is expected to teach and provide clinical services. In addition, there are opportunities to conduct research within the department or elsewhere at UMMC.

    The University of Mississippi Medical Center, the state's only academic health science center, is located in Jackson, the capital of Mississippi. UMMC encompasses six health science schools: medicine, nursing, dentistry, health related professions, graduate studies and pharmacy.     Full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

    The Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, MS is actively recruiting a board certified/eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as the Director of the Division of Child Psychiatry. The Department's threefold mission is to provide high quality care to all patients; to offer state-of-the-art education and training in medicine, psychiatry, psychology and related fields; and to pursue research on the brain, human behavior and mental illness. As the Division Director, the candidate psychiatrist would be expected to provide visionary leadership aligning with the medical center's mission at a statewide level, including utilizing novel ways of teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and providing inpatient and outpatient clinical services not only in the Jackson area but across the state using an existing and extensive telehealth system and collaborations with other disciplines. In addition, there are opportunities to conduct research within the department and to collaborate with other departments across the UMMC campus.
