    Dr. Lisa M. Sullivan is a pediatric pathologist with interests in pediatric solid tumors and cytogenetics.  A native of North Carolina, she completed her bachelor of science at Duke University and graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  Subsequently, she trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Virginia.  After residency, Sullivan completed a pediatric pathology fellowship and a research fellowship in cancer cytogenetics at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).  She continued to practice as an attending physician, actively participating in both research and clinical work, at CHOP for three years before joining UMMC as an assistant professor.

    Sullivan’s research interests focus on a variety of pediatric tumors including malignant rhabdoid tumors, thyroid malignancy, sarcomas and brain tumors through the use of tissue microarrays, molecular/cytogenetic techniques and digital image analysis.

    Among other professional groups and associations, Sullivan is an active participant and committee member in the Society for Pediatric Pathology.
