    Applications for medical student elective rotations (UMMC Orthopedic Surgery course #657) are accepted after March for the summer/fall elective period. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of four students per month. The student will rotate through four or five orthopedic subspecialties and work one-on-one with residents and faculty.

    Only senior medical students enrolled in good standing in an LCME-accredited school, in the U.S. or Canada will be offered a senior elective in this School of Medicine.

    After review of the application and verification of the applicant's credentials, the Registrar's Office will notify the orthopedic surgery education coordinator for approval of the elective. Students should also send a copy of their USMLE Step 1 score to:
