A prerequisite for admission to the physiology graduate program is a bachelor's degree in science or engineering and an overall B average. The detailed list of the requirements can be found with the School of Graduate Studies.

The applicant must submit an application for admission to the Office of Student Records and Registrar, an official transcript of undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) grades, and an official statement of scores received on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Foreign applicants must submit official TOEFL scores. Additional requirements are indicated in the application for graduate.

    Financial aid

We are pleased to offer financial assistance to all students pursuing a PhD. This includes a stipend (currently $25,000 a year), health benefits and a tuition waiver for Mississippi residents.

We accept applications at any time during the year, but it is most beneficial to the student to have his/her application completed by March or April. This deadline allows the student to enter the program the following summer or fall.

If you need more information or have questions regarding the graduate program in physiology, e-mail Dr. Michael J. Ryan, graduate program director.
