Brice McMurphy receives Quintessence Award for Research
Graduating student Brice McMurphy accepts the School of Dentistry Quintessence Award for Research from Dr. Jason Griggs, Associate Dean for Research, at SOD Awards Day, April 22, 2104. McMurphy's project involved measurement of surfaces using fractal geometry, under the mentorship of Dr. Griggs, Professor of Biomedical Materials Science.

The ADA/Dentsply Student Clinician Award is given to one student each year to attend the ADA/Dentsply Student Clinician Research Program. They are also awarded a plaque on Awards Day.

The Hinman Student Research Symposium is a national meeting that features oral and poster presentations of research studies by dental students and graduate trainees from dental schools across North America.
