Dr. Harold Kolodney, a professor in the Division of Oral Oncology retired Oct. 4 after 30 years on in UMMC's School of Dentistry. At a ceremony in his honor, Dr. Gary Reeves presented Kolodney with a citation, pin and rocking chair.
Dr. Dan Quon (pictured above, left) professor in the Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Pathology Department, recently was recognized for 30 years of service to the department. Presenting him with a service pin was Dr. Ron Caloss, chairman of the department.

Benjamin Anderson, DDS, has been selected as the first recipient of the Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Pathology scholarship. Anderson attends the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.
The scholarship was established and funded this year by the faculty of the Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Pathology at the UMMC School of Dentistry. It is awarded to deserving members of the department's six-year residency program to defray the expenses of medical education.
Dr. Sigurds Krolls retired in November 2014 after many years with the Division of Oral Pathology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center's School of Dentistry. Pictured with him is Dr. Ron Callos.
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has been granted approval for two residency positions in a post graduate residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the Council on Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
The department, with the help of the UMMC School of Dentistry, Univeristy of Mississippi and the University Hospitals and Clinics, has been working to create this inaugural program.
