    Former MRPSP scholar Dr. P. Brent Smith has been elected to the board of directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Smith received the Gary W. Jefcoats Award during his second year resident of residency for his outstanding teaching characteristics in the areas of medical student, resident and patient educations.
