      • Studies in animals to examine cardiovascular and renal mechanisms implicated in the pathogenesis of pregnancy-induced hypertension 
      • Animal models: rat and mouse 
      • Surgical techniques: the reduced uterine perfusion pressure (RUPP) model, implantation of osmotic mini-pumps, implantation of carotid and jugular catheters 
      • Studies in humans to investigate cardiovascular and genetic mechanisms involved in the pathophysiology of pregnancy-induced hypertension 
      • Molecular techniques: Protein, RNA, and DNA isolation, Zimography, PCR-RFLP, Real Time-PCR, ELISA, and Western Blot
