    Isolation requirements

    • Disease: Tuberculosis - pulmonary, confirmed or suspected ( positive smear for AFB, chest radiograph suggestive, laryngeal disease, or TB listed in differential diagnosis of a pulmonary problem)
    • Category: Airborne Infection Isolation
    • Infective material: Airborne droplet nuclei

    • Disease: Extrapulmonary, meningitis
    • Category: Standard
    • Disease: Extrapulmonary, draining lesion (includes scrofula)

    • Infective material: Pus
    • Comments: Use Airborne Infection Isolation for procedures causing aerosolization of infective material
    • Diseases: Positive Tuberculin Skin Test without abnormality on chest radiograph or pulmonary symptoms
