  • Acinetobacter Species, Multi-Drug Resistant

    Isolation requirements

    • Disease: Acinetobacter species, multidrug-resistant (MDR-AB): defined as any isolate that is sensitive to no more than one class of antibiotics (excluding colistin).
    • Category: Contact Precautions.
    • Duration of isolation: At this time there are no available criteria for removing patients from isolation. Patients with positive cultures from any site must stay in isolation for duration of hospitalization and be placed back in isolation at time of any re-admission.
