     Routine: 7 days
    Collection Information:No special patient preparation is required. Obtain specimen by standard collection procedures.
    Transport Information:Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory.
    Reference Clients:If unable to deliver to the lab within 1 hour, centrifuge the specimen and remove serum from the red cells. Store and transport at 2 - 8° C. Specimen must be received in the lab within 5 days. If longer storage is required, store and transport the sample at -20° C for up to 30 days.
    Causes for Rejection:Improperly labeled, incorrect container, contaminated, insufficent quantity, incorrect/delay in transport, gross hemolysis or lipemia.
    Reference Range:Albumin: 3.04 - 4.73 g/dL
     Alpha 1 Globulin: 0.09 - 0.43 g/dL
     Alpha 2 Globulin: 0.37 - 1.10 g/dL
     Beta Globulin: 0.31 - 1.59 g/dL
     Gamma Globulin: 0.39 - 2.14 g/dL
     Total Protein: 5.00 - 8.60 g/dL
     Kappa Light Chains: 3.44 - 19.40 mg/L
     Lambda Light Chains: 5.71 - 26.30 mg/L
     Kappa/Lambda Ratio: 0.26 - 1.65 mg/L
