  • Creative Services & Project Request Procedure

    In addition to offering marketing strategies for UMMC, we provide copywriting, editing and design services. We work with all areas of UMMC to best position our programs and services for success.

    All work must fit with the organization’s overall strategy and missions and must meet brand standards. It must also meet approval by the UMMC Legal and Compliance offices when applicable. The Marketing department offers assistance through several types of promotional materials, including, but not limited to:

    • Brochures/panel cards
    • Posters
    • Direct mail
    • Print ads
    • Outdoor boards
    • Online advertising
    • Radio advertising
    • Television advertising

    Project request procedure

    To request the UMMC Marketing Department’s assistance, please submit the Marketing Project Request form. The form must be completed in its entirety before it enters the Marketing Department’s queue.

    While the UMMC Marketing Department does not charge for its services, production and media costs must be assumed by the requesting department unless otherwise approved by UMMC Marketing. Projects will not be put into production without accurate charge code information.

    A clear marketing objective and leadership approval is required to initiate a marketing project.

    After copy is written and approved for a project, the standard design turnaround is two weeks or more depending on the scope of the project. Please speak with a member of the Marketing staff with questions regarding timing.

    The requesting department is responsible for all purchase orders, financial approvals and accounts payable details related to projects requiring an outside vendor.

    Brochures and other materials produced in conjunction with the Marketing Department may be reprinted by contacting the UMMC Print Shop directly, as long as no revisions are made.

    All marketing or communication materials representing any UMMC entity must be created and/or approved by the UMMC Marketing Department or Public Affairs. We do not recommend that you attempt to create your own materials, as it will be subject to change and/or approval.

    Distinct from the Marketing Department, Public Affairs manages all communications with the media as well as internal communication projects for UMMC.
