• How to Help

The MIND Center's Phase I fundraising goal is $17.5 million. Community support and private donations are critical to accelerating the MIND Center's scientific discovery and achievement of our mission to crack the code of Alzheimer's and bring critical dementia-care services and support to Mississippians across the state.

The MIND Center offers a variety of naming opportunities:

    • Naming of UMMC's Translational Research Center (future home of the MIND Center's research operation with anticipated completion in spring 2017)
    • Naming of the MIND Center's research operation: $4 million
    • Discovery Fund: $2 million ("seed funding" for highly innovative research projects prior to being competitive for NIH funding)
    • Rising Stars (five available): $500,000 each (funding for Junior Investigators for a three-year period to develop their research to bridge the gap between their post-doctoral training and independent research)
    • Annual Lectureship: $200,000 (facilitates the invitation of top global scientists to speak at UMMC allowing the medical center to showcase its successes in the scientific community and provide a platform for networking and forming research collaborations)

    Support at other levels
Gifts between $5,000 and $50,000 will also receive special recognition in the building, in relevant publications, and other media at the following levels:

    • Founders Council: $50,000
    • Benefactor: $25,000
    • Partner: $10,000
    • Friend: $5,000

The simplest way to support this project is with a tax-deductible cash gift. Since many employers match the philanthropic gifts of their employees, please ask if such a program exists with your organization. UMMC also accepts gifts of securities, real estate, or planned gifts such as bequests, life insurance policies, retirement plans, annuities or charitable remainder trusts.
