    Hyundai Hope on Wheels

Hyundai Hope on Wheels has been helping children fight cancer since 1998. Over the past 15 years it has donated more than $72 million to pediatric cancer.

The mission of Hope on Wheels is to raise awareness for childhood cancer, donate life-saving research funds and celebrate the lives of children affected by this disease. The program provides grants to eligible institutions nationwide pursuing innovative pediatric cancer research. These grants are designed to develop new treatments and ultimately a cure.

On Sept 10, 2013, Hyundai Motor Company presented a $250,000 research grant to Dr. Chindo Hicks, Associate Professor of Medicine. Dr. Hicks will investigate why American children of European ancestry have higher survival rates than American children of African ancestry when faced with lymphoblastic leukemia. Batson Children's Hospital is one of 41 recipients of Hope on Wheels' 2013 Hyundai Hope Grants.
