  • Receiving and Distribution

The Receiving and Distribution arm of Supply Chain Management is a service area under Materials Management. We assist the Medical Center with receiving goods and services, documenting and delivering goods and services, and assisting in the return of any products. All of these services are provided for the University of Mississippi Medical Center official business purposes and is not intended for personal use.

We have tracking capabilities for the products received. When a receiving employee comes to your area with your products, we ask that an employee be available to verify products and sign for delivery. When an employee signs the receiving report paperwork, the purchase order is then updated for payment. If an employee signs the electronic signature pad, this only indicates that someone in your area received these items and does not update the purchase order for payment. To have the purchase order closed for payment, information about the items delivered directly to your area needs to be relayed to the Receiving Department. They will, in turn, update the purchase order appropriately for payment to be handled in a timely manner.
