    The Division of Public Affairs is the strategic communications hub of the Medical Center. Public Affairs oversees all interactions with the news media and tells the Medical Center story through print and electronic communications for internal and external audiences, including UMMC's primary social media accounts.

    In addition, Public Affairs provides a variety of services to the Medical Center community, including creative communications services, publicity for noteworthy activities, tours and event planning.

    Members of the professional news media who need assistance covering Medical Center activities should contact the office at (601) 984-1100.

    All media who visit the campus must be accompanied by an escort from Public Affairs.

    A number of resources for the news media, including our press releases and an image gallery of downloadable photos, are available to the left, under Resources.

    Distinct from Public Affairs, the UMMC Marketing Department oversees the institutional brand and most UMMC advertising as well as service and specialty-specific marketing. Marketing is also responsible for, the consumer-facing UMMC website. Their creative services are available to all areas of the Medical Center.
