    Mission and goals

    Mission

    To provide interprofessional educational experiences for the life-long learning of nurses in the state.

    Goal

    The University of Mississippi School of Nursing Continuing Education Program supports and augments all programs of the school and Medical Center; promotes life-long learning among faculty, staff, students and the community; and enhances the professional development of health-care professionals in Mississippi and surrounding states.

     

    Objectives

    • Promote an awareness of the need for life-long learning among School of Nursing faculty, staff, students and the community.
    • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate continuing education/faculty development activities to meet the professional development needs of the School of Nursing faculty.
    • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate appropriate continuing education activities to meet the needs of registered nurses and health-care professionals in Mississippi and surrounding states.
    • Collaborate with the Division of Continuing Health Professional Education to plan, develop, implement and evaluate multidisciplinary continuing education activities that promote interprofessional collaboration in health care.
