UMMC news conference on data breach

WHAT: Dr. James Keeton, UMMC vice chancellor for health affairs, will discuss the accidental breach of students’ personal information.

WHEN: 11:30 a.m., TODAY Friday Aug. 23

WHERE: Norman C. Nelson Student Union. Enter the UMMC campus from Lakeland Drive, the Student Union is the first building on the right.
 
PARKING: Media may park on the plaza near the covered, Student Union drop-off area.

WHY: A spreadsheet containing social Security numbers, grade-point averages and other personal information was inadvertently released to 190 UMMC students Wednesday evening.
