The Division of Hematology continues to grow, both in the types of services provided and the number of patients seen. The division's inpatient census remains large, encompassing a mixture of patients with hematologic malignancies and/or those undergoing marrow transplantation.The division staffs a 12-bed bone marrow transplant unit, which is certified by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy.The division participates in clinical trials through the Southwest Oncology Group. There are presently ten fellows in the training program sponsored by the Hematology and Oncology Divisions.
