Friends of Children's Hospital
Beginning at age 16, volunteers make a difference to children, their families and the hospital staff every day of the year. A yearly commitment of 30 hours is required.

Special events offer a fun way to make a difference in the lives of Mississippi's children. They play an important role in philanthropy at Batson Hospital by raising valuable resources that benefit our patients and generating awareness of the hospital and children's health issues. Events include those sponsored by the hospital and by community organizations that support Batson Hospital.

| As a member-hospital of the Children's Miracle Network, the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children participates each year in several fundraiser's through the Children's Miracle Network and works closely with many national and local sponsors to raise funds and resources for the children in our care. Since the Batson Hospital began participating in 1985, nearly $6 million has been raised to help Mississippi's sick and injured youngsters. Friends of Children's Hospital
Friends of Children's Hospital is a nonprofit organization created to benefit the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. It was created by a group of dedicated members from around the state whose purpose is to support and promote the Batson Hospital. Visit the Friends' web site at www.foch.org.
UMC Candlelighters
The UMC Candlelighters organization is composed of parents and friends of UMC pediatric patients with cancer. This group is a very active organization, with its primary purpose being support for children fighting cancer and their families. The Candlelighters organization also serves as a support group for the entire pediatric oncology program at UMC, helping to provide financial assistance as well as many other types of assistance for the Children’s Cancer Program.
