  • UMMC Cancer Registry

The primary goal of the UMMC Cancer Registry is to improve patient care by providing a system for monitoring all types of cancer and certain benign diseases diagnosed and or treated at UMMC. The UMMC Cancer Registry assures timely, accurate and complete data are maintained on patients. Data collected by the registry includes the type of cancer, extent of disease at the time of diagnosis (stage), types of treatment given to patients, and outcomes of treatment (survival) data. Data is collected in a systematic, standardized process to meet state and accreditation requirements.

Data may be used to evaluate patient outcomes and treatment, calculate survival rates, allocate resources, planning services for patients or the community, and to report cancer incidence as required by Mississippi law.
