Bachelor's Degree Program
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree
The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing was the first school in the state to offer a bachelor's degree in nursing. Now, over half a century later, the SON offers two distinct bachelor's degree programs — the Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN.
Located on the state's only academic health science campus, the School of Nursing has a program to fit your needs, career goals and lifestyle.
The UMMC School of Nursing Freshman Early Entry (BSN) program provides an entry into the Traditional BSN program as a college freshman, rather than as a junior.
The Traditional BSN program is a nursing program that includes two years of prerequisite coursework followed by two years (five semesters) of nursing coursework.
The Accelerated BSN program is designed for individuals who have a bachelor's degree in another field and wish to change career paths in a short amount of time. This particular program takes 15 months to complete and includes a continuous four-semester curriculum.
