AWHONN names Rowzee ‘Emerging Leader’
Kim Rowzee, nurse manager in the Winfred L. Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants' Ante Partum Unit, has been selected by the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) as one of 10 members of its 2014 class of emerging leaders.
Funded by a one-year educational grant from the Johnson and Johnson Campaign for Nursing's Future, the Emerging Leaders Program has engaged nurses in a formal, year-long leadership training program since 2007.
Rowzee was selected based on her skills, experience and enthusiasm for women's health and perinatal nursing.
Program activities will include guidance from mentors, networking events, meetings with members of Congress and their staffs, multiple continuing education opportunities and other experiential training to build confidence and leadership skills.
