Chef teams, volunteers needed for Taste

The 2013 Taste committee is seeking chef teams to reserve booth space and plan menus for the Saturday, Feb. 23 Taste of the U event, which raises money for the UMMC Alliance.

Last year, nearly $60,000 was raised for patient, student, facility and employee needs. Recently, funds raised at Taste supported the Children's Justice Center at UMMC and outings for three pediatric ventilator patients who live at Batson Children's Hospital.

This year, Taste will honor Dr. Richard Miller and Dr. Suzanne Miller, emeritus faculty members, for their more than 80 years of combined service to the Medical Center and community. Hunter Gibson and the Gators will perform and a silent auction and drawings will continue throughout the evening.
