Quality Administration taps Christ for Q Award
Dr. Elizabeth Christ, center, associate professor of pediatrics-critical care, receives the Q Award from Dr. Michael Baumann, left, chief quality officer, and Dr. William Cleland, chief medical officer.
Christ was nominated for the award by Michelle Welander, clinical director of Batson administration, who wrote that Christ makes quality care "her passion."
According to Welander, Christ "has advocated and supported evidence-based medicine among her peers and colleagues. Her mission to enhance patient safety and quality of care is achieved by continuous process improvement.
"Dr. Christ has worked diligently to build trust among team members in the PICU by listening and communicating effectively. She also collaborates with the surgical teams and other teams that work within the PICU and PCICU to provide the best care possible for our patients."
The Q Award is presented quarterly by Quality Administration to a Medical Center physician who promotes quality and improves patient safety. To nominate a physician for the award, select the "Q Award" link under the UMMC Yellow Pages in the Support section of the UMMC Intranet.
