Tour follows Express project to the Delta
A group of Medical Center administrators and faculty members representing the hospitals and the schools of Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry and Health Related Professions visit at the historic Mont Helena plantation near Rolling Fork during a Dec. 5 tour of the new school-based clinics of the Mercy Delta Express Project.
The project, led by Dr. Lisa Haynie, professor of nursing, and the School of Nursing, provides health care to students of South Delta Elementary School, South Delta Middle School, Ripley Blackwell Head Start and the Cary Christian Center. Sister Patricia Parker (front row, third from left) and Sister Robyn Huser (front row, fourth from left) of the Sisters of Mercy in Vicksburg, also were in attendance for the tour. The Sisters of Mercy donated the mobile medical clinic bus to the Mercy Delta Express Project in 2003. (Larger Photo)
