Cancer Institute scientists to host symposium

cancer inst logoUMMC Cancer Institute scientists will host a "Cancer Research Day" event to showcase their research, hear what others in the medical community are doing and inform community groups about how research money is being spent, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, at the Norman C. Nelson Student Union.

The symposium will offer an opportunity for researchers from Jackson-area colleges and universities to meet with UMMC and University of Mississippi researchers and discuss further research collaborations. The event will include presentations from Cancer Institute scientists and a poster session.

Scientists, physicians, residents, students and cancer-related community organizations are invited. For more information, e-mail Veronica Mayes at vmayes@umc.edu.
