Gatewood, Boyte to facilitate Schwartz Rounds
Jimmy Gatewood, associate director of social work in the Department of Coordinated Care, and Dr. Rick Boyte, professor of pediatrics and director of palliative medicine, will facilitate the UMMC Schwartz Center Rounds, "The Medical, Social and Ethical Challenges Faced in the Care of the Bariatric Patient," from noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, in classroom R354 (upper amphitheatre).
Dr. Joe Pressler, assistant professor of medicine, Doris Whitaker, hospital chaplain, Terri Traylor, social worker, and Shannon Moffett, nurse practitioner, will serve as panelists.
The event is a multidisciplinary forum in which clinical caregivers discuss difficult emotional and social issues that arise in caring for patients.
Doors will open at 11:50 a.m. and lunch will be provided for the first 200 in attendance.
