TeamSTEPPS trainer tapped for Quality Award

Dr. Sheila Bouldin, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology, receives the Q Award in October from Dr. James M. Shwayder, left, professor of obstetrics and gynecology, and Dr. Michael Baumann, professor of medicine and chief quality officer.

Bouldin was nominated for the award for helping implement the TeamSTEPPS tools in the Winfred L. Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants.

Bouldin, a TeamSTEPPS master trainer, also was recognized for coordinating the first ob-anesthesia simulation exercise and for volunteering to speak at nurses meetings, addressing issues involving patient care and improved communication with physician staff.
