Pastoral care event to give voice to community

Pastoral Care Services will host a series of Pastoral Care Week events, “Giving Voice,” Monday-Friday, Oct. 22-26, in and around the Medical Center Chapel.

The festivities will include worship, sacred stories, liturgical dances, songs, diversity education opportunities and devotional discussions.

Scheduled events include:

Monday, Oct. 22

8:30 a.m. Morning Glory presentation by Timothy McGregor, hospital chaplain

Noon Inaugural celebration in the University Hospital foyer: Dr. Ruth Black, the UMMC Choir and a “Ballet Magnificat” liturgical ballet

Tuesday, Oct. 23

8:30 a.m. Morning Glory presentation by Marvin Turner, billing specialist for University Physicians

10:30 a.m. “Patient-centered Care: Giving Voice to Culturally Diverse Patients” panel in room 7A

Nighttime PCW staff and employee devotional

Wednesday, Oct. 24

8:30 a.m. Morning Glory presentation by Hubie Nelson of Tabernacle Christian and former VAMC chaplain
