UMMC to take part in 2012 HeartWalk

Heartwalk_AHAThe Medical Center will participate in the American Heart Association's Metro Jackson Area Heart Walk scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Mississippi state capitol.

Dr. Richard deShazo, Billy S. Guyton Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, is UMMC's champion and is recruiting team captains to participate and to recruit other UMMC faculty, staff and students to take part in the walk.

Captains can register their teams at www.metrojacksonheartwalk.org. UMMC's overall goal is $50,000.
