Medical, bioengineering group fetes Benghuzzi
Dr. Ham Benghuzzi, professor of clinical health sciences in the School of Health Related Professions, recently was recognized by the American Institute of Medical and Biomedical Engineering (AIMBE) for his “outstanding contribution to the fields of biomedical sciences and bioengineering,” according to Dr. Ibrahim O. Farah, president of the Mississippi Academy of Sciences.
Farah said the AIMBE recognition is extended to only the top 1 percent of medical and biological engineering scientists in the country.
Benghuzzi’s contributions to the field of drug delivery, his service as an elite educator and mentor for students and faculty also were recognized by the World's Societies for Biomaterials at the organization’s World Congress last June in China.
