UHHS earns K-C Global WATCHDOG mention
Kim Summerlin, left, patient care areas representative for Kimberly-Clark Global Sales, Inc., presents her organization’s 2011 Healthcare-Associated Infection WATCHDOG Outstanding Infection Prevention Initiative honorable mention award to Elham Ghonim, center, director of infection prevention, and Lee Ann Lutken, clinical director for the Intensive Care Unit and EICU.
Ghonim and Lutken accepted the award on behalf of University Hospitals and Health System, which competed in the “More than 300 Bed” category.
The HAI WATCHDOG awards recognize health-care facilities that are making a difference in reducing and preventing serious, often life-threatening infections. The awards help publicize these HAI prevention initiatives and empower health-care providers to share and learn from each other.
