UMMC to take part in 2012 HeartWalk
The University of Mississippi Medical Center will participate in the American Heart Association’s Metro Jackson Area Heart Walk Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Mississippi state capitol. Dr. Richard deShazo, Billy S. Guyton Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, is UMMC’s champion and is recruiting team captains to participate and recruit other UMMC faculty, staff and students to the walk. A UMMC Team Captain Kick-Off Luncheon is this Wednesday, Aug. 15, in the Student Union. In the meantime, captains can register their teams at
www.metrojacksonheartwalk.org. UMMC’s overall goal is $50,000.
