Lightning strikes School of Dentistry building

During a violent thunderstorm Aug. 6, lightning struck the northwest corner of the School of Dentistry building. Deborah Hayes, left, and Cindy Chestee check damage to the corner from the fifth-floor balcony, close to where their desks are located. Hayes reported her weather radio had just gone off followed by a very bright flash and a tremendous report.  No damages were reported inside the offices from the lightning strike.
