Neurosurgery faculty welcome Chamczuk
Dr. Andrea Jennifer Chamczuk has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of neurosurgery.
After receiving her BSc with honors in biology and psychology from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in 1997, Chamczuk earned her MSc in clinical biochemistry at the University of Toronto, Ontario, in 2001. She then earned her MD at Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Netherlands-Antilles, in 2005. She subsequently completed her residency training in neurological surgery at the University of Buffalo (SUNY) in June 2011.
After being awarded the prestigious Cushing Fellowship Award from the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, she went on to complete her fellowship training in neuroendoscopy in Holland and Germany. The coauthor of a half-dozen articles in peer-reviewed publications, Chamczuk has been an invited presenter at more than a dozen international conferences. She holds a joint patent for a rapid assay used as a method for diagnosing multiple sclerosis.
