Curious George to visit patients at Children's Hospital

Curious George will visit patients at Children’s Hospital as they celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Malcolm White, Director of the Mississippi Arts Commission, co-owner of Hal & Mal's and founder of the Mal’s St. Paddy’s Parade, will join us as celebrity reader for the patients. Malcolm will read Curious George by H. A. Rey, whose illustrations are currently featured at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
When: Friday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
Where: The lobby of Batson Hospital.
Why: Curious George will serve as Grand Marshal of the pet and children’s parades during the 30th annual Mal’s St. Paddy’s Parade taking place in downtown Jackson on Saturday, March 17. For more information on the parade and weekend events, please visit www.malsstpaddysparade.com.
Curious George Saves the Day: The Art of Margret and H.A. Rey is on display at the Mississippi Museum of Art (the Museum). The exhibition at the Museum offers visitors a rare opportunity to view nearly eighty original drawings and vibrant watercolors of Curious George and other characters. Many of these works have never been on display before and will be available to the public at the Museum until July 22, when they return to their home at in the de Grummond Children’s Literature Collection at The University of Southern Mississippi.
