Transplant unit pours heart into sole collecting

Employees in the Division of Hematology’s Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, from left, Dana Delaski, Romy Aguilar, Rhea Adams, Wendy Arinder, Cindy Butler, Susan Johnson, Jennifer Rowse and Deborah Lucas, help kick off the unit’s Soles for Survivors Shoe Drive to benefit the Bone Marrow Transplant and National Marrow Donation Program.

The unit’s goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of shoes of any size or condition throughout September. The nonprofit Funds2Orgs will buy the shoes, refurbish them and supply them to needy people in impoverished countries around the globe.

Shoes can be dropped off at boxes located throughout the Medical Center campus. For more information, call 601-984-5615.
