UMMCares Grand Givers

Proving that "giving feels good," representatives of the School of Health Related Professions (top) and the School of Medicine (bottom) enjoyed recognition for their support of the 2011 UMMC Cares campaign for the community.

SHRP Associate Dean Jessica Bailey accepts the "Grand Giver" trophy from Dr. James E. Keeton, vice chancellor for health affairs, reflective of the highest participation rate by division.  SHRP achieved nearly 30 percent participation, more than double that of the next closest challenger.  Also presenting are (front, left) Dr. LouAnn Woodward, associate vice chancellor for health affairs, and Dr. David Powe, chair of the UMMC Cares committee.  At right, Powe presents a trophy to Woodward, vice dean of the School of Medicine, in recognition of its members contributing the highest total by division.  The medical school raised nearly $24,000, edging out University Hospitals and Health Systems.  Powe said the schools will keep their respective trophies until the 2012 campaign is held.  The 2011 campaign raised $71,293 for 13 community service agencies.
