    Biography

    Sandra Stanton, assistant professor of nursing, received her associate degree in nursing from Northeast Mississippi Community College in 1992, followed by her BSN in 2007 and her MSN in 2010 from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in nursing education and administration.

    She serves as the academic counselor for the undergraduate nursing students on the Oxford campus as well as students in the RN-MSN program. She teaches in both undergraduate and graduate courses. Her specialties include maternal-child nursing, community health nursing and psychiatric nursing. Along with her faculty role, she is also a legal nurse consultant for various law firms throughout the Southeast.

    She is an active member of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and numerous professional organizations, including the Mississippi Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International and Phi Kappa Phi.
