Biography

Dr. Barbara J. Boss is the director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and professor of nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She currently teaches in the School of Nursing's DNP and Ph.D. programs and within the family nurse practitioner track in the master's program and is one of the original faculty members in the School of Nursing's faculty practice plan. She has practiced as a family nurse practitioner for the past 12 years at the school's urban family practice clinic. She has been involved actively in the evolution of advanced nursing practice and advanced practice education predominantly within the state of Mississippi for the past 15 years.
