The Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center offers a strong, balanced program. The program uses the SF MATCH Application service. Residents should check with their director if unfamiliar with this service. As part of the SF MATCH Application service, the residency program requires a recent photograph, USMLE results (Steps 1 and 2), a dean's letter of recommendation and three letters of recommendation from faculty, a final confirmation letter from the ABPS, and applicants must have at least 5-years of general surgery, or board eligibility in neurological surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, or urology, prior to enter into this program. Residency programs at the University of Mississippi Medical Center require state licensure. After an application has been reviewed, invitations for interviews will be extended. During the interview day there will be a tour of the medical center and opportunities to speak to residents at various levels. Interviews are held on a Thursday and Friday in January and February. Interviews will be limited to 12 applicants each day. The deadline for application is Oct. 31. An applicant without United States citizenship must have a J-1 visa in order to be employed as a resident at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
