  • Body Imaging

    The Body Imaging Division, a specialized branch of Radiology, at the University of Mississippi Health Care's offers state-of-the art imaging for the diagnosis of diseases of the chest, abdomen and pelvis.

    Our Body Imaging faculty members are fellowship trained with a wide range of experience, accomplishments, interests and attributes with numerous scientific publications. We employ state-of-the-art imaging equipment and protocols with major focus on oncologic imaging. The Body Imaging radiologists participate in various multidisciplinary conferences that enable discussion of specific patient issues with a team of doctors from various specialties, such as oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, and radiation oncologists. We spearhead as well as actively support clinical services and, in addition, collaborate with other centers on clinical, translational and basic research.

    The Body Imaging Division specializes in imaging disorders of the chest, gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts. Typical diagnostic imaging studies performed on a daily basis are as follows:

    • Fluoroscopy
    • Barium studies for esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large bowel
    • Contrast radiography of the GI tract (enteroclysis)
    • Fistulograms
    • Gastrografin studies
    • Advanced imaging
