• Presentations and Meetings

Our residents regularly present at major national meetings. In 2014, five residents attended the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings (COSM) in Las Vegas and gave six poster presentations. Nine residents attended the Mississippi Society of Otolaryngology (MSO) meeting and three residents presented. A team of three residents won the Academic Bowl at the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) annual meeting in 2011.  Since residency programs are required to wait three years after winning a competition, our program is now eligible to compete in future bowls.

We also send our residents to a variety of training courses and national meetings such as the Society of University Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeons annual meeting which allows them to learn about academic roles early in their career. Several of our residents have served in national leadership roles in the Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the Association of American Medical Colleges.
