Hollis "Tripp" Purviance received his associate degree in nursing in 1999 from Hinds Community College, his BS in nursing in 2004 and a MS in nursing in 2006 from University of Mississippi School of Nursing.
He served as the nurse manager of the inpatient orthopedic unit from June 2003-June 2006. Prior to that, he was a staff nurse specializing in post-operative orthopedic care.
Purviance is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society for Nursing, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses and Mississippi Nurses Association.
He holds certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a medical surgical nurse and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a family nurse practitioner. He is serving as a member on the Nursing Alumni Board and holds the position of lead nurse practitioner of orthopedic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, radiology and radiation oncology.
Purviance works with patients at University Rehabilitation Center and the Pavilion.
