The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center provides leadership for emergent care as the frontline in the state’s only Level I trauma center.
As physician leaders, we also strive to develop quality systems of clinical care through evidence-based standards and cutting edge research. These efforts have resulted in a national reputation for excellence in the practice of emergency medicine. In this environment, our residency program has trained most of Mississippi’s board-certified emergency physicians and continues to serve as an educational resource for the practice of emergency medicine.
