    • General: Endocrine, renal and cardiovascular physiology
    • Specific: CNS mechanisms that regulate peripheral glucose homeostasis and control arterial pressure and renal function; leptin-NPY-melanocortin system, renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system; sympathetic nervous system 

    Research methods and techniques

    Genetically engineered mouse models; chronic instrumentation for long-term metabolic, cardiovascular and renal studies in rats and mice; in vitro preparations to measure glucose uptake and utilization.
